ASTM A588 Grade K Steel is a high-strength, low-alloy structural steel with an atmospheric corrosion resistance of up to 50 ksi (345 MPa) in the as-delivered condition and a minimum yield point of 35 ksi (240 MPa). It can be used in riveted, bolted or welded structures in architectural or industrial applications. It has excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance and can be used in bridge construction, building facades and weathering steel and other fields.
There are several tolerance methods available when using ASTM A588 Grade K steel. These methods are designed to ensure that the finished product meets the exact specifications of the client. Once the required tolerances are determined, the material can be cut, formed and welded to create the desired structure.
First and foremost, it is important to adjust the beam section, such as the web and flanges, to the desired tolerances before welding.
