As a new generation of advanced steel material, weathering steel has outstanding visual expression, and the longer it is used, the more prominent its corrosion resistance will be. The rough surface produced by the corrosion of the steel plate makes the structure more volume and quality.

Its special feature is that when exposed to the natural environment, over time, the surface forms a corrosion-resistant protective layer without painting protection, and the material life span is more than 80 years.

But if it is not treated, the rust reaction will continue, and eventually the steel plate will be rotten, so it must be kept at a special stage, so how to do it?

As mentioned above, there is a layer of rust-red protective film on the surface of the weather-resistant steel plate, which prevents the diffusion and development of rust, protects the substrate under the rust layer, and slows down its corrosion rate.

So how is this protective film formed? The more commonly used one is the rust stabilization process.

Rust stabilization treatment is to use a chemical method (rusting solution) on the surface to produce a rust-stabilized film. It is a method to inhibit and stabilize the rust that flows out of the steel at the beginning of its use. The main stages are as follows:

Stage: Genuine weathering steel begins to grow small rust spots, while the rust spots on ordinary steel plates are relatively loose, and some rusting treatments are poor or even rust.

The second stage of long rust: Genuine weather-resistant steel has less rust water, and the rust spots are small and dense; ordinary steel plates have more rust water, and the rust spots are relatively large and thin; black marks.

The third stage of long rust: Genuine weathering steel has a clear and dense rust core layer, and the rust points are tightly adhered to form a protective layer, which hardly rusts when rubbed by hand; ordinary steel plates have a lot of rust, and even the whole piece of rust peels off , Rust through. Genuine weathering steel tends to be reddish brown, while ordinary steel plates tend to be dark black.

The common product types of weathering steel are divided into four categories: profiles, plates, pipes, and wires.

Section bar: Section steel refers to a straight steel bar with a definite cross-sectional shape and a relatively large ratio of length to section perimeter.

Plate: When the size of the section steel cannot meet the requirements, or to manufacture large-scale structural components, it is necessary to use the plate in the weathering steel material for manufacture. Perforated weathering steel plate is a unique plate with unique texture and visual effect.
